If you follow the activities of the “Path 2 Book” community, you already know that a few days ago, CREATIVE30 started – more precisely, 30 days in which participants accepted the challenge of doing a creative writing exercise every day, on assigned topics… but with one mandatory theme: “Your Passion.”
Today, while I was working on the program topics, suddenly, the Muse struck me again, and along with the materials that the participants will receive to progress, an idea for an exercise hit me. Which I now propose to you.
To you, not to the participants of CREATIVW30. To you… who are reading these lines directly on my website.
So… here’s what I have prepared for you.
How does your passion save you?
Creative Writing Exercise
Imagine yourself in the middle of a storm. A storm of life hits you from all directions, and there you are, caught, trying to stay afloat.
You’re there, alone, in the eye of the chaos, and each wave that comes toward you seems bigger and more threatening than the last.
Maybe it was a professional situation that seemed hopeless, a moment when all doors appeared to close. Or perhaps a personal problem that drained your strength, making you feel like you were standing on the edge of an emotional abyss.
Do you remember that time?
One day, you woke up with that feeling of suffocation, as if the whole world was pressing down on you. You couldn’t see any solution, no way out. Your life had become a dark labyrinth, and you were wandering without any compass to show you the way.
Maybe it was the loss of a job, a relationship that fell apart, or an inner struggle that silently consumed you.
You felt powerless, as if the whole world was moving forward while you were stuck, frozen in the middle of an inner battle.
But then, in a moment of stillness, right in the middle of the storm, your passion (whatever that passion may be…) made itself heard. It was that ray of light that pierced the dark clouds.
Your passion, maybe for writing, art, music, or anything else, whispered to you: “You’re not alone, don’t stop.” It was an inner call, a familiar voice urging you to lift your head and look ahead. That anchor kept you grounded when everything around you seemed to collapse.
Think about that moment when you felt your passion embraced you like an old friend, offering you the strength you needed.
Maybe you picked up a pen and started writing, releasing all that inner turmoil onto the paper. Or perhaps you sat at the piano and let each note carry you away from insurmountable problems.
In those moments, your passion became your refuge, that safe place where you could shelter from the emotional rain that didn’t seem to stop.
Describe – putting the words on paper – this moment, with all the details you can feel once again.
What was the challenge?
How did that struggle you faced look?
What emotions overwhelmed you?
Most importantly, how did you find your way out? How did your passion lift you from the dust, helping you regain your balance?
That moment wasn’t just about survival but about rediscovering your strength and the courage to move forward. And right then, you realize that… your passion isn’t just a hobby but the essence that keeps you going.
Tell the story of this transformation.
Every detail matters, every emotion you experience.
This story is not just about difficulty – it’s about how your passion was that light that pierced the darkness and how, thanks to it, you managed to find your way again.
As for me… aside from the Creative30 program… my passion is also guiding me toward the Retreat.
You don’t know which Retreat?
Well… the Writers’ Retreat – Dating Your Muse.
Like always, our main sponsor is Writers Pay It Forward team.
We’re leaving on Wednesday, 09/18, to ensure everything is ready for the participants’ arrival. This is because… they will arrive on Thursday… to Transylvania… right near Dracula’s Castle.
Obviously, the spots for this Retreat have already been taken.
But, if the idea of participating in the one in 2025 tempts you (it will probably be sometime in the summer)… I invite you to sign up for the waiting list.
